Bellringing at Holy Trinity
UPDATE: The Saint Dunstan’s Guild of Handbell ringers meets every Friday evening in Church at 6.30. All welcome.
The church has a ring of eight bells which are set for chiming, with access to the ringing room at ground level by means of a few steps. We aim to ring for all services and weddings and for other social events too.
The band of ringers is a small but dedicated group with experience ranging from 2/3 years, extending to 20/30 years for a few exponents of the art. However, new ringers can soon become accomplished and be pleased with their achievements, being able to play a hymn tune on their first evening’s practice.
There are few limits to learning to chime – the main requirement is that you can reach the ringing frame and pull a rope. If anyone wishes to learn to ring you can join us on practice nights when you will be assured of a warm welcome.
The Parish Church is also open for visitors during the hour on practice night when the Bell-ringers Association Prayer is used. Arrangements can be made for any local organisation, schools, Youth Clubs, Cubs, Scouts, Guides, Seniors etc. to visit the church and “have a go”.
Practice night is usually Friday between 6.15pm and 7.15 pm. Although this is subject to change so please see your Weekly Pew Sheet or ring one of the numbers below for more details.
